Promo Server

Note: Use the Viz Channel Branding Client Configuration settings to configure the server address of the Promo Server and to direct Channel Branding system to use Promo Server for a specific channel.

This section covers the following topics:

About Cross-Promotion

Cross-promotion is typically used in scenarios where one or more channels need to access information about events in other channels in order to fetch data for page-filling. For example, the channel MUSIC might need to know what events are scheduled on channel MOVIES in order to answer such queries as “The Next event on channel MUSIC is program Foo while channel MOVIES now shows the film Bar”. Promo Server is a utility for handling such cross-channel queries.

Configuration

Promo Server is configured to handle a specific channel by registering it via Settings → Page Content Filling → Promo Server Address

While there is a configuration file in the directory %ProgramData%\Vizrt\Viz Channel Branding\Promo Server it is not advisable to manually edit this unless expert knowledge is had.
