Background Image

Background Image is a special purpose plug-in that provides basic functionality to render an Image or a Media Asset fullscreen as background. This is similar to what the Scene's Background Image slot provides, with the exception of Lens Distortion. Since the image is drawn as part of the scene, the content of the image is lens distorted in the same way as the scene.

Compatibility Info: This plug-in works in the Viz Classic Render Pipeline only and only is available if the Render mode is set to Classic.

Background Image Properties

  • Image: Image that is used to render in the background, Media Assets are also allowed.

  • Key: Renders the alpha channel of the image as key, when enabled.

Known Limitations

It is made to be able to render a media asset as background and add additional content on top of it in the same scene in the main layer. There will be issues when going beyond that use case, be aware of that.
