Various applications make up the Ticker System:

Application

Description

Viz Ticker Client

The Viz Ticker client application, for operating and providing data to defined tickers. In this system, messages are created, added to a carousel, and sent On Air. The typical user of Viz Ticker Client is a journalist or operator.

Viz Ticker Web Client

A companion application to the desktop client enabling remote connection to the Ticker carousels. A typical user is a journalist or operator modifying the content of a ticker from a remote location.

Ticker Wizard

The Viz Ticker configuration application for importing scenes created in Viz Artist and creating tickers. In this system, carousels are selected and equipped with templates. Adjustments of the GUI settings in Viz Ticker Client can also be defined from this system. The typical user of Ticker Wizard is a graphical artist.

Ticker Feed

A service for connecting external feeds to a Ticker System. It makes it possible to populate a scrolling or flipping carousel with data elements from a file that is updated from an external source. It is optional to include this component in the Viz Ticker setup.

Ticker Service

A component responsible for communicating ticker messages to the Viz Engine renderer. This component is necessary in order to run a scrolling carousel in Viz Ticker.

Ticker System Tool

A console application that performs various important system operations, such as archiving (export/import), upgrading and system deletion.
