Mosart Web Apps 3.1

Release Date: 2026-07-03

We’re happy to announce the launch of Web Applications 3.1, with some new features, polished designs and productivity-enhancing improvements. This release introduces the new Prompter web app, brings real-time collaboration to Showmaker, and gives Smart Panel a redesigned editor with richer widgets and automation.

We value your insights and encourage you to share your feedback, feature requests or comments, to help us continue to innovate.

Prompter (early access)

New in Web Apps 3.1, the Prompter is a browser-based teleprompter that displays the script from the live Viz Mosart rundown on any connected device – a laptop, tablet or dedicated prompter screen – without additional hardware or software.

Follows the on-air rundown

The Prompter follows your production automatically. As stories are taken on air, the script rolls to the current item and reads ahead across items that have no script of their own, so the presenter is never left waiting. Manual transport controls remain available at all times for rehearsal or when you want to take manual control.

Reading experience and on-screen controls

A control bar in the prompter keeps the essential controls within easy reach. An optional reading-cue band and cue arrows highlight the line being read to guide the presenter or anchor. The cue band can be switched off independently of the cue arrows, to suit the talent’s preference.

Remote control from Smart Panel

The Prompter can also be controlled from an independent Smart Panel. Add a button to play or pause the Prompter, or embed the Prompter output directly in a panel as a widget for confidence monitoring alongside your other controls.

Installation

The Prompter installs as part of the Mosart Web Applications bundle and is available from the App Launcher in the Configuration Tool.

Showmaker

Following its first official release in Web Apps 3.0, Showmaker 3.1 focuses on real-time collaboration and faster show preparation.

See who else is working in a rundown

Showmaker now displays the presence of other users. Each active user is given a distinct color, and you can see at a glance who is viewing or editing a rundown and its stories – useful when preparation is shared across desks or shifts.

Comments and @mentions

You can now leave comment threads on stories, reply to keep a discussion together, and @mention colleagues who have access to Showmaker. Threads carry an author and timestamp and can be marked resolved once they are dealt with. Both editors and viewers can comment and resolve threads.

Mentions inbox

A global mentions indicator surfaces any comment where you were mentioned, the moment you open Showmaker – even in a different rundown, and even after you log out and back in. Jump straight to the comment from the inbox, and navigate it entirely from the keyboard.

Show Assets (Quick CG)

Build a per-show library of frequently used Viz Pilot Edge graphics – your Quick CG – and add them to stories in a click, editing their text inline. Show Assets are reusable across every rundown in the show, saving time recreating the same lower-thirds and bugs, edition after edition.

Automatic story timing from the script

Showmaker can now calculate a story’s planned duration from the length of its script, using a configurable reading speed (words per minute). Choose a preset that matches your talent’s pace and the planned timing is estimated as the script is written.

Faster rundown editing

The rundown editor now has drag-to-move for reordering items, a click-to-open preview gallery for choosing content, and default timing for graphics. Keyboard shortcuts for the most frequent actions are now surfaced in tooltips, making them easy to discover.

Navigation and workflow

Previous and Next arrows on the show header make it quick to move between shows. Additionally, the Plugin panel can now be resized and collapsed to give the script more room.

Smart Panel

Building on its first release in Web Apps 3.0, Smart Panel 3.1 brings a redesigned editor, richer widgets and new automation actions.

Redesigned panel editor

The panel editor has been redesigned. Component and panel settings are now organized into dedicated Properties tabs, the Layers list moves into the left column for quick selection and reordering, and the canvas gains a cleaner floating style. Keyboard accessibility throughout the editor is improved.

Browse and create panels

A new browse and landing page makes it easy to find existing panels and create new ones, with preset layouts and a template picker to help you get started quickly.

Improved NDI integration

A new integration for displaying NDI video in Smart Panels removes the previous requirement for configuring a suitable Viz Coder instance. In this version of Smart Panel, NDI sources are discovered and can be selected, directly when adding a video window to the design.

Additionally, every Smart Panel can now be output as an NDI video stream for ease of distribution and display on multi-viewers, monitors or anywhere the information could be usefully displayed.

Enhanced Asset List widget

The Asset List widget can be filtered and configured by asset type, and can source its content from rundown items, graphics (including by graphics destination) or a Media Sequencer playlist. Fullscreen and overlay graphics show their slug, thumbnail and live on-air status, so operators can see and take exactly the right element.

New button actions

Panel buttons can now trigger more of your production: load a specific rundown (or prompt the operator to pick one at runtime), take an MSE graphic, take a TriCaster macro, and remote-control the Prompter – each from a single button.

Admin and Viewer roles

Smart Panel now supports Admin and Viewer roles, so you can control who may edit panels and who has read-only, operational access.

Editing conveniences

Custom text and button labels now support manual line breaks, and panels are no longer required to have unique names.

Template Editor (early access)

The early access, web-based Template Editor continues to mature in Web Apps 3.1.

Management dashboard

A new Management dashboard makes it easier to browse and organize your templates.

Switcher macro and EMEM recall

You can now configure switcher macro recall and EMEM recall, with a redesigned Command Property panel that makes command setup clearer.

Refreshed interface

The application’s top bar has been redesigned and the interface cleaned up.

Configuration Tool

Multi-studio support

Mosart Web Apps now support multiple studios across the applications. This means once central Mosart Web Apps host can connect to multiple Mosart back-end instances known as Studios. The Configuration Tool’s Studios page has been redesigned as a validated table, with alias-aware conflict detection so that misconfigured or clashing servers are caught early.

Stream Deck plugin

The official Mosart Stream Deck plugin is now bundled with the installer and available directly under Help & Resources.

Navigation and access

The API documentation (Swagger) access point has been redesigned and moved into the navigation, and the custom title bar gains a maximize/restore button.

Fixes and clean-up

This release also includes a range of fixes across the Configuration Tool, including removal of the obsolete Viz Coder live-preview configuration.
