Pilot Data Server 9.0.1

Release Date: 2023-12-14

These are the release notes for Pilot Data Server version 9.0.1. This document describes the user-visible changes that have been made to the software since release 9.0.0.

Fixed Issues

  • Removed log of full call-stack on connection exceptions (PDS-680).

  • To avoid Oracle errors such as "ORA-01795: maximum number of expressions in a list is 1000", do not mass-update the last modified date and time on related templates when a scene is changed (PDS-708).

  • Fixed issue that made STOMP monitoring not work when using HaProxy (PDS-718).

  • Codemeter has been updated to version 7.60d (PDS-722).

Pilot Data Server 9.0.0

Release Date: 2023-10-04

These are the release notes for Pilot Data Server version 9.0.0. This document describes the user-visible changes that have been made to the software since release 8.9.2.

Release Highlights

Viz Pilot Edge 3.0 with Pilot Data Server 9.0 is setting a compliant standard for how objects with timing and duration are transported through the MOS protocol. See section MOS XML in the Pilot Data Sever documentation for more information.

Fixed Issues

  • Boolean values in Viz Pilot Edge data elements are now represented as 0 and 1 when using the /dataxml end point, which is used by Media Sequencer (PDS-648).

  • Added optional parameters to Pilot Data Server to override MOS XML tags objTb, objType and objDur. The MOS XML end point for a data element now returns objType=PILOT, objDur=1 and objTb=50 or 60 (PDS-654).

  • Fixed the stomp monitor link which was not including a possible domain on host (PDS-637).

  • Tags config page is now compatible with BaseUrl rewrite (PDS-647).

  • Data elements created using the PDS REST interface now correctly support Mosart timing (PDS-318).

  • To not overwhelm the logging mechanism, no more than 50 index changes per batch operation will be logged (PDS-682).

Recommended System Requirements

Pilot Data Server was tested with the following operating system:

  • Windows Server 2022

It should run on any supported Windows Server OS as long as it is supported by Microsoft.

Visual C++ 2013 (redistributable packages found on https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784).

Note: If the Visual C ++ 2013 Redistributable Package is not installed, some software, such as Director and Media Sequencer, may encounter an HTTP 500 issue when connecting to Pilot Data Server.

As Pilot Database, either of:

  • Graphic Hub 3.9.0 (with Graphic Hub REST 2.9.0)

  • Oracle 11g or newer (with schema version 8.4.0 or newer). Oracle 19c is recommended and is also the maximum version, as Viz Pilot requires a non-CDB configuration, which is the terminal release for a non-CDB architecture.

Recommended versions of other related products:

  • Viz Pilot 8.9.1

  • Preview Server 4.6.0

  • Template Builder 3.0.0
