System Requirements
Hardware
There are no known hardware limitations for Viz Pilot Edge, other than requirements stipulated by newsroom systems hosting the client.
Software
If running Viz Pilot Edge inside a browser, the following minimum requirements apply:
-
Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 +
-
Chrome 64 +
-
Safari 11.0 +
Upgrading
When upgrading from a previous version of Pilot Edge, the previous version may still be presented by the host browser for a short time due to client side caching. To prevent this, clear the host browser cache. If you are using the default Internet Explorer host, open Internet Explorer, press CTRL + SHIFT + DEL, select Temporary Internet files and website files and click DELETE.
Important Notes
-
If there are any issues with map fields when running in Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 +, remove include all local sites not listed in other zones and turn off detection of intranet zones in the IE11 policy settings. (VPE-2329)
Viz Pilot Edge 1.6.0
Release Date: 2020-05-28
These are the release notes for Viz Pilot Edge version 1.6.0. This document describes the user-visible changes that have been made to the software since release 1.5.1.
This release includes a major update of Template Builder.
Changes and New Features
-
Added the ability to sort Templates by modification date. (VPE-3120 )
-
Added support for automated opt-in collection of anonymized usage metrics, if used with Pilot Data Server 8.5 or above. (VPE-2810)
-
Auto-generated data element titles will now ignore " <unspecified>" values. ( VPE-3003)
-
Added support for native spellchecking in normalized text fields. (VPE-3287)
Fixed Issues
-
MOS fields <description> and <mosAbstract> are no longer truncated to 128 characters. (VPE-3245)
Note: The auto generated title on save is capped at 200 characters. If a title generation string is specified, the 200 character limit does not apply. Director may still show truncated descriptions in the MOS playlist, as the Media Sequencer uses the <objSlug> field to populate the "description" attribute.
-
Opening Viz One MOS objects without media now gives a dialog instead of an error message. (VPE-2486)
-
Refreshing the data element list after clicking "Show more" now works properly. (VPE-3208)
