This section details how to transfer and use video clips from a configured Viz One.
To transfer and download a video clip or image from Viz One, Viz One must be integrated and configured with Viz Artist/Engine (see the Viz One and Authentication pages in the Configuring Viz section of the Viz Engine Administrator Guide and the Viz One Deployment Guide).
Information: Viz One transfer requires Mediaftp (File Transfer) and Fsmon (File System Monitor) services are installed and running, and Viz One (MessageQueue Server) is correctly configured. Please refer to the Viz Engine Administrator Guide for detailed information on how to configure and install these services.
Using the Viz One Browser
The Viz One Browser is available as a dock inside Viz Artist. Once the configuration is set, the status icon will turn into green, otherwise it will indicate an error.
The Viz One browser allows to search for Video Clips and Still images on a Viz One Storage. Simply type you search term in the search field and the browser will display the result. Clicking on any item will show a larger preview and some more metadata.
Note: Clip preview is currently not yet supported.
The view can be switched between an icon view or a list view. Ordering allows to sort by modification date, name etc.
Once your item has been found it can easily be applied by simply dragging it to your desired location.
To Use Clips on a Container
The easiest way is to directly drag a clip from within the Viz One browser to your scene tree. This performs the following actions:
A new container is created.
A Clip Player as Texture Renderer is assigned.
The clip is automatically transferred to your configured Clip Location.
The clip is loaded into the player.
To Use Clips as Media Channel
By default, Clips from Viz One can be used by dragging them onto a container. However, if you want to assign them to a Media Asset (Like Clip Channel or Super Channel), do the following:
Create the wanted Media Channel (either a Clip Channel as DVD or Texture or a Superchannel)
To Use an Image
Images can (but should not) be used directly from a Viz One system, they need to be staged to Graphic Hub first. Therefore, you need to drag them from the Viz One Window (or dock) to the Asset view to start a transfer and import the image into Graphic Hub.
