Viz Trio 4.5.0
Release Date: 2025-11-28
These are the release notes for Viz Trio version 4.5.0. This document describes the user-visible changes to the software since version 4.4.3.
Improvements
Thumbnail handling and image cache reimplemented for improved speed and memory usage(TRIO-6596).
Performing a Save As no longer triggers a Read of the page, preventing any loop-scenario and gives a general client performance increase (TRIO-6657).
The VTW component String Grid is reintroduced in Viz Trio 4.x (TRIO-6629).
Now possible to assign a macro to the F1 key and replace the built in shortcut to Help (TRIO-6681).
Fixed Issues
Traversing up to a parent page in a Scroll or Table editor will now properly update tab field tree (TRIO-6693).
When local preview Viz Engine is starting up, the client now retries an optional amount of retries to allow for slower machine scenarios (TRIO-6684).
Fixed an intermittent issue where the client could throw an exception during a startup of the client UI (TRIO-6673).
For a template with Image Load and loading an image from Viz One the Viz One Keywords could erroneously stay until the client was restarted (TRIO-6672).
Relative URLs in page fields of a page in a MOS playlist are now properly supported (TRIO-6670).
When a macro contains invalid declarations of variables, the client gracefully handles it (TRIO-6663).
Control Object description would not be updated for duplicate fields when a scene was edited and template reimported (TRIO-6661).
Loading a show containing scripts could under some conditions display a dialog asking the client to be restarted (TRIO-6660).
Several issues around Control Container and Control OMO in Control List Table View corrected (TRIO-6658).
Decimals for entries in Control List are now properly supported (TRIO-6654).
Corrected handling of associated model data to fix an issue where selecting a Viz One clip would freeze the client UI (TRIO-6653).
Copy-pasting the same page over itself into a playlist, to avoid losing it, is no longer done (TRIO-6652).
Selecting image from Viz One while using HTTPS for search is now translated to use HTTP for non-authentication reference (TRIO-6650).
Scenes using ControlList plugin with ControlContainer plugin with triple inline editor will now see preview update in real time (TRIO-6642).
Holding Ctrl-key to disable numpad call-up now works under all intended situations (TRIO-6637).
A script performing a page:read will no longer halt the current script execution if the Page read does not contain its own script (TRIO-6636).
It is now possible to edit the Page description by clicking the area for it even when the current is a blank value (TRIO-6635).
For Pilot elements, the text fields no longer show the formatting wrapper, just the text value (TRIO-6634).
Turning off a VTW Timer from within a Timer sub is now possible again (TRIO-6633).
Reimport of Page with adjusted tabfield default values will now have these updated (TRIO-6631).
Changing a tabfield in a scene used in a combo template will now be properly refreshed when loading a preview (TRIO-6622).
Importing an image to Page list, when the image has spaces in its filename, would result in the thumbnail being black (TRIO-6600).
Separation of Enter and Return key now allows for both rapid Page creation and a take directly after a Page creation (TRIO-6550).
Will no longer throw an exception if user tries to copy paste a Page with a numerical name larger than 9223372036854775807 but show a warning (TRIO-6493).
When importing Pages via XML, the current tabfields value(s) are now shown in the UI immediately, instead of the default scene value(s) (TRIO-6478).
Corrected issue with VTW template being unable to connect to .mdb database – see User Guide on how to upgrade templates created in 3.x and earlier (TRIO-6422).
Connection relation flags are now properly reset to allow for a connection to be reestablished to a restarted, previously manually started, Viz Engine (TRIO-6215).
