Whilst log files are valuable for understanding and analyzing unexpected program behavior, it is also recommended to allow Microsoft Windows to generate User-mode crash dumps. They simplify debugging, particularly when hardware or general Windows issues are affecting program behavior.

Enabling User-mode Dumps requires Windows 7 or higher. To enable, configure the following registry setting:

HKEY\_LOCAL\_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Error Reporting\LocalDumps
